Tracy Mattheson

Born in Dunkirk, New York  to parents who met at Mass College of Art, I followed their lead by graduating to the same college with a degree in Fine Art, Painting. After working in the art world for a few years, I returned to school and then began working as a psychotherapist. Currently I work as a Crisis Clinician in the Emergency Departments of local hospitals.

I moved to Maine in 2012 and was inspired to return to painting. I was fortunate to find an active and generous group of Artists in Southern Maine who provide camaraderie as well as opportunities to learn and paint.

Previously I explored the use of color in abstraction, but have recently begun to work more realistically. I’m not following any maps and I’m unsure of my destination but loving the ride.
